Russia Sends Three Warships Into NATO Waters To Test Resolve

Russia sent three warships just four miles out from Latvia’s territorial waters.

The ships were thought to test the resolve of NATO and arrived in the sea just after a US vessel arrived in the Baltic sea, the US ship was equipped with cruise missiles.

The Russian action could be interpreted as a response to US actions, or Russia is probing the resolve of Latvia, the small Baltic state, that is a Nato and EU member.

According to Military officials in the Latvian capital Riga the Russian warships were – a Liven 551, Serpukhov 603 and a Morshansk 824.

Directly after arriving, the Russian warships soon were ordered back. The ships are headed to St. Petersburg, for the annual war commemoration event on May 9th, known as Victory Day.

The strife between the West and Russia continues.
