Actor Pete Davidson reportedly left audience members angry last week during a shocking comedy set that saw the Saturday Night Live star cracking jokes about having sex with his friend’s baby.

At one point during his routine at The Bell House in Brooklyn, New York, Davidson relayed a story about the time he was babysitting his friend’s child. The baby was teething. Davidson noticed the baby sucking his finger, but in “good” way he quipped.

“I don’t want to fuck this baby but he’s asking for it,” Davidson said, according to the Montreal Gazette. He later added that he’s not into having sex with babies but if he was, he would choose that baby.

Regardless of whether or not these comments were made in jest, the fact remains that they are not only vulgar and inexcusable, but they also create and promote a platform for child sex abusers and pedophiles to feel empowered and justified to continue in their pursuit of harming innocent children. Any professional, especially one who’s entire career and success is arguably dependent upon children (child actors and child viewers), should aim to be a leader in the protection of the wellbeing of all children, not create a platform for current or potential abusers to feel accepted or empowered.

The desperate need to protect our children could not be any greater than it is now, especially during a time when 1.8 million adolescents have been a victim of sexual assault, teens 16 to 19 years of age are 3 ½ times more likely than the general population to be victims of rape, attempted rape, or sexual assault, and 1 in 6 boys and 1 in 4 girls are sexually abused before the age of 18 (NSOPW).

Our society is being groomed to accept Pedophilia as just another sexual orientation. Comedians are joking about it, we see children stripping in gay bars, children being photographed with naked Drag Queens, and we have Drag Queens reading stories about being gay to our children.

When will we say enough is enough? When will we put a stop to this? If history is any indication it will be after pedophilia has been labeled just another sexual orientation. By then it will be to late.
