    Detectives now investigating missing Spokane, WA woman as a homicide

    Detectives found a body believed to be that of 24-year-old Arezu Kashify hidden beneath the false bottom of a chest freezer inside the apartment she shared with her husband.  The incident is now considered to be a homicide.

    Her husband, identified in court records and by friends as Wahid Kashify, left the country using a one-way airplane ticket on May 28 to an undisclosed location – three days after his wife was last seen by friends.

    Last Thursday, she was officially reported missing by a friend who hadn’t heard from her for several days.

    YESTERDAY AFTERNOON, Spokane County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Detectives executed a search warrant at the apartment of Arezu and Wahid Kashify in north Spokane and located the body of a deceased female hidden inside.

    The search warrant was obtained June 4, 2019, through information gained during this ongoing investigation into the disappearance of Arezu Kashify, who was last seen on May 25, 2019.

    Detectives remained at the apartment throughout the evening, and with the assistance of Spokane County Sheriff’s Forensic Unit personnel, they processed the scene and collected evidence. Investigators are now
