The search giant announced that it is suspending all advertising connected to Ireland’s abortion referendum to protect “election integrity.”

From Thursday until May 25th, 2018 Google will no longer display ads related to the May 25th vote on whether or not to repeal Ireland’s constitutional ban on abortion.

After the recent scandal surrounding Facebook caused by Cambridge Analytica, Facebook too is limiting advertisements regarding the matter. Facebook announced that it would ban all foreign ads surrounding the election.
