    It’s a birthday party like no other and always includes cake cutting with a sword …an art in the Marine Corps. For Marines, marksmanship makes it too late to run. Fighting…they’re not called “Devil Dogs” for nothin’. November 10, 2019 is the 244th birthday of the United States Marine Corps. They were born to fight. What do you expect when their “birthplace” was a tavern?

    Good morning! It was #OnthisDay, Nov 10, 1775, in Philadelphia stood the Tun Tavern, the traditional birthplace of the United States Marine Corps authorized by a resolution of the Continental Congress. Happy Birthday USMC! Semper Fidelis!

    They have legends too: Presley O’Bannon, Chesty Puller,  John Basilone, Kyle Carpenter, and everyone in between, decorated Marines are part of their history – a history of sacrifice.
