Now Schumer wants body armor sales regulated

    Perennial gun control proponent Sen. Charles Schumer (D-NY) has announced he will introduce legislation to require body armor sales in this country to be regulated by the FBI.

    Schumer, who has supported all manner of gun control legislation during his time on Capitol Hill as both a House member and member of the Senate, said his bill will be introduced in September when Congress reconvenes, according to the Washington Times.

    The man who opened fire recently in Dayton, Ohio was wearing body armor and hearing protection, according to CNN, and the shooter who died at the Gilroy, Calif., Garlic Festival had body armor at his home, authorities discovered.

    According to the Washington Times story, Schumer will include exceptions for law enforcement and “other public safety professionals.”
