Operation Blessing Brings Much-Needed Supplies to Mississippi Families, Seeking Volunteers to Help with Clean Up

By

President Joe Biden traveled to Mississippi Friday afternoon to meet with victims of last week’s devastating tornado.

The powerful EF-4 tornado destroyed about 300 homes in Rolling Fork and the nearby town of Silver City.  Mississippi Emergency Management reported that 25 people died as a result of the storm.

As CBN News reported on March 26, CBN’s Operation Blessing deployed its emergency relief team to Mississippi.

Operation Blessing trucks arrived in Rolling Fork Thursday, delivering food, water, and cleaning supplies to the Rising Star Seventh-Day Adventist Church.

The church is a source of much-needed relief for the community since the disaster struck.

Operation Blessing also made a delivery in Wren, Mississippi, where the local fire station will serve as a base of operations.

Beginning Sunday, April 2, the nonprofit charitable organization will hold registration for volunteers at 8:30 am at the Wren Fire Department, Old Hwy 45 in Aberdeen. Orientation will be at 9:00 am.

Volunteers should wear long pants and sturdy work boots/shoes with hard soles (rubber boots if possible). Volunteers will be given Operation Blessing T-shirts upon arrival.
