Quebec woman who tried to poison Donald Trump sentenced to over 21 years in prison

(LifeSiteNews) — A Canadian woman who tried to poison former President Donald Trump has been punished with nearly 22 years in jail.  

On August 17, U.S. District Court Judge Dabney L Friedrich sentenced Quebec resident Pascale Cecile Veronique Ferrier to 262 months, almost twenty-two years, for sending ricin-laced letters to then U.S. President Donald Trump and Texas officials in addition to various other biological weapons charges. 

“The only regret I have is that it didn’t work and that I couldn’t stop Trump,” 55-year-old Ferrier told the court. 

“I consider myself to be an activist, not a terrorist,” she said. “Activists are constructive, terrorists are destructive.” 

Ferrier sent the letters in September 2020, just a couple months before the election. According to a press release from the United States Department of Justice, in early September 2020, Ferrier wrote on social media, asking someone to “please shoot [T]rump in the face.” 

“I found a new name for you: ‘The Ugly Tyrant Clown’,” Ferrier wrote in her poison laced letter to Trump. “I made a Special Gift for you to make a decision.
