Update: Sheriff’s Deputy Killed: Tennessee Bureau of Investigation Seeking Person of Interest – Steven Wiggins

Update:The manhunt for a suspect wanted in this week’s killing of a Middle Tennessee sheriff’s deputy came to an end Friday morning when Steven Wiggins was captured by law enforcement in Hickman County.

On May 30th, 2018 The Tennessee Bureau of Investigations issued a ‘Blue Alert’ for a person of interest who is reportedly armed and dangerous and has been involved in the shooting of a Deputy.

Authorities are searching for a suspect who allegedly shot and killed a Dickson County Sheriff’s Deputy Wednesday morning during a routine traffic stop according to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigations (TBI).

The Humphreys County Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Steven Wiggins. Police describe him as a white male, 6-feet, 1-inch tall and 220 pounds with balding brown hair.

The TBI is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to Wiggins’ arrest. The suspect is considered to be armed and dangerous.

The TBI issued a Blue Alert, which is similar to an Amber alert, stating the following regarding the matter; “We’re issuing a Tennessee Blue Alert for Steven Wiggins, the person-of-interest in the shooting death of a Dickson County sheriff’s deputy. He is believed to be armed and dangerous.”

Residents and motorists are being asked to avoid the area along Tidwell Switch near the intersection with Bear Creek Valley Road at the Dickson-Hickman county line while law enforcement search for Wiggins. Also, the agency added Wiggins to the Top 10 Most Wanted List.
