Thousands of French protesters take to the streets nationwide in opposition to mandatory vaccines and COVID passports

PARIS, France, July 15, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — Following President Macron’s announcement on Monday to extend the sanitary pass and make vaccination mandatory for healthcare workers, thousands of people took the streets this Wednesday, July 14, France’s national day. 

As President Macron watched the annual military parade on the famous Avenue des Champs-Elysées, demonstrations were taking place in a great number of French cities: Paris, Lyon, Bordeaux, Toulouse, Bayonne, Avignon, Nantes and others.

According to official figures nearly 20,000 demonstrated against what many are calling “a sanitary dictatorship.” And everywhere, the same slogan could be heard: “Liberté!” (“Freedom!”)

The decisions announced by President Macron on Monday included: 

Mandatory vaccination for all healthcare workers with sanctions to be enforced as early as the 15th September for those who don’t comply.

A sanitary pass for people over 12 to access places of leisure and culture with room for 50 people or more (including cinemas) as early as the July 21.
