Archaeologists excavating a site in Ethiopia have uncovered an ancient city that could prove a connection between giants and Islam.
Locals believe the city might have been built and inhabited by giants because of the incredibly large stone blocks which make up the city walls and buildings.
The discovery of the ancient city has the potential to rewrite history as the archeologists unearthed proof of a trade route between the city, Egypt, India, and China.
The site is roughly half a mile in size, and the excavations turned up a mosque that was constructed in the 12th century.
An Islamic burial site was located which contained over 300 sets of remains, and droves of pottery from as far away as China and Madagascar.
Architecture uncovered bears a resemblance to other known early sites in Africa, showing a previously unknown link between early Islamic civilizations.
The expedition led by Professor Timothy Insoll from the Institute of Arabic and Islamic Studies at the University of Exeter, who stated;
This discovery revolutionizes our understanding of trade in an archaeologically neglected part of Ethiopia. The archaeological findings suggest this place was home to a very mixed community. Local people were extremely keen for us to solve mysteries. Farmers had been finding strange objects, including Chinese coins, as they were working on their land, and a legend began that the area was home to giants. We have obviously disproved that, but I’m not sure they fully believe us yet. Some people have said the bodies we have discovered are the children of giants!
Could the discovery of said site prove the reality that giants walked the Earth in those days and there after?
There were giants in the earth in those days: yea, and after that the sons of God came unto the daughters of men, and they had borne them children, these were mighty men, which in old time were men of renown.
For there we saw giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants, so that we seemed in our sight like grasshoppers: and so we were in their sight.
They also were taken for giants as the Anakims: whom the Moabites call Emims.
