Mike Pence’s wife Karen Pence and daughter Charlotte Pence recently published a children’s book called “Marlon Bundo’s Day in the Life of the Vice President.” The book features the families pet rabbit Marlon Bundo, BOTUS- bunny of the United States for short, as he hops alongside Mike Pence to experience a day in the life of his “Grampa.” The book is illustrated by the Second Lady a former art teacher and award-winning watercolor artist and written by her daughter Charlotte.

The proceeds of the Pence’s creative and child-friendly story will go to A21, a nonprofit dedicated to stopping human trafficking, as well as an art therapy program at Riley Hospital for Children.

In a blatant act of undermining the meaning and cause of the children’s book, John Oliver presented a parody book plugging it on his show Last Week Tonight with John Oliver after a twenty minute long attack on the Vice President where he brought up all the controversy surrounding Pence that he could find, even dating back into the 90’s. The proceeds of Oliver’s book will go to organizations active in the LGBTQ movement.

“A Day in the Life of Marlon Bundo” is “a children’s picture book about a very special boy bunny who falls in love with another boy bunny. However, their path is blocked by a stink bug (illustrated to appear as Mike Pence) that declares boys have to marry girls.” In an attempt to sell more books than Pence, John Oliver argues, “This is actually a book for children, this is a real children’s book, this isn’t some adult book telling Mike Pence to go (bleep) himself, although in buying it that’s exactly what you would be doing.” The parody book quickly reached number one on Amazon’s best-seller list.

The stage has been stolen from a noble cause to serve the agenda of trashing Mike Pence and his family. Not too long ago Joy Behar of the View claimed that Mike Pence had a mental illness for his evangelical beliefs. Now, his religious beliefs are under siege again because of his open opposition to the LGBTQ community, and this time his family has been brought into it.

“It’s unfortunate that anyone would feel the need to ridicule an educational children’s book and turn it into something controversial and partisan,” a spokesperson for Regnery Publishing, which released the Pences’ book, told CNN.
