(LifeSiteNews) — American ice cream maker Ben & Jerry’s is being ridiculed for an anti-Canada Day tweet calling for Indigenous land to be returned.

The Canadian branch of Ben & Jerry’s is facing backlash for a July 1 post telling Canadians that their home is “stolen” from the Indigenous people.

Another day to talk about #LandBack and how we can support communities defending their land. Take action this Canada Day https://t.co/E4mFwr1vdT #CanadaDay2023 pic.twitter.com/CooC6YLD2d

“O Canada, our home on stolen land,” the post read.

“Another day to talk about #LandBack and how we can support communities defending their land,” it continued. “Take action this Canada Day.”

The ice cream brand, which has a large facility on Indegenous land, was called out by Twitter users for hypocrisy.

Ah, another company’s products to add to the list of poisonous garbage my family will not be buying.

You conduct business on this ‘stolen’ land. Maybe you should donate a controlling interest in your operations to the nearest indigenous tribe. Put your money where your mouth…
